Why Invisible Braces Are Preferred by Many

Enter the invisible braces that are today all the rage. These are designed to make dental treatment easier on all wearers because it spares them from the teasing and the embarrassment that goes with having a mouth filled with wires and brackets.

Types of invisible braces

Regardless of whatever dental problem you have, your orthodontist has a certain type of 'invisible' apparatus to offer you.

There are various kinds of invisible braces in the market today. One is the brace made of ceramics. Unlike traditional metal braces, these are affixed at the back of your teeth - giving them that other name, "lingual braces."

They're actually made of the same material as your ordinary braces, but they are positioned behind the teeth, so no one can even tell you're wearing dental fixtures unless you tell them. The downside, of course, is the wearer has to contend with some speech problems during the early stages of wearing these invisible braces.

The ceramic type is just that - its brackets, or those parts serving as handles to hold the arch wires that move your teeth, are made of ceramic which are of nearly the same color as the outer surface of your teeth. Although the wires are still visible, it's already a big help for those who don't want to be branded "metal mouth" in school or in their workplace.

Another variation are the braces which are fixed at the back of the teeth. They hide the bracket from view, making it possible for you to smile confidently whenever you want, as if you're not wearing any braces at all!

Last are the Invisalign invisible braces. These are plastic appliances molded to fit your teeth perfectly, with of course a little adjustment to correct any misalignment your teeth may have.

Invisalign is more expensive than the metal braces we know, but has a lot of advantages that makes the old-school brackets passe. They are manufactured with 3D imaging technology to ensure that the appliance you get is made to fit you perfectly.

You can remove these invisible Braces Cleaning anytime you want, and they actually need to be removed whenever you eat or drink anything other than water. This only means that there's no need for you to always carry paraphernalia such as a waterpik, dental wax, interdental picks, special angled toothbrushes, and a small mirror. You get to brush your teeth the way you did prior to wearing braces.

Invisalign invisible braces have to be worn for at least 20-22 hours a day for maximum benefit. Generally, wearing Invisalign involves shorter periods, but it could also be that problems treated with these invisible braces are less complex than those treated with brackets and wires.
